Determine Which Metrics to Track

Instagram has built in metrics in the backend of your Instagram account called Insights. You can also see your metrics in Facebook’s Creator Studio or third-party metric tools.

Third-party tools currently have the most in-depth overviews and filtering capabilities like graphs and charts for summary, audience growth, publishing behavior, top posts, engagement, etc.

The metrics you need to focus on are:

  • Comments
  • Saves
  • Shares
  • Likes

These 4 are must-track metrics that will help you see how your engagement is going.

  • Website Clicks
  • Clicks from a link shortener

These 2 metrics are helpful if you want to see how many people are converting from Instagram

  • Product opens
  • Profile visits
  • Reach
  • Impressions

These metrics aren’t required but they can be helpful in getting a well-rounded view of your account’s health and influence.

*Action Item: Pick a few Metrics that are in line with your goals and check in on them every few days*

And with that, you now have your first Instagram post complete! Repeat this process to build out a ton of posts, and schedule them out in advanced, that way you can focus on tracking the results and optimizing.
